The Museum is located at 700 Procter Street in downtown Port Arthur, Texas, and spans 39,000 square feet. It has an orientation theater, a classroom, a hospitality area, rentable space, and a gift store in addition to two floors of displays. The building is wheelchair accessible. Three sections of the Gulf Coast Museum feature significant figures from the region. Janis Joplin is among the more than 80 musicians inducted into the Music Hall of Fame, who represent a diverse range of genres. More than 75 local athletes are included in the Sports Legends Gallery. The Notable People Gallery features more than 40 people who have attained national and/or international prominence in their field.
